Every bead here starts as rough natural stone. Our carvers shape each one by hand on a wheel, then polish it. That is why no two melons in a strand look the same. We sort every strand before it ships, so chipped petals and uneven ribs never reach you.
Carved Shapes You Can Shop
Melons are our best seller, ribbed rounds that catch light in every groove. Flowers come top-drilled or center-drilled in fluorite and crystal quartz. Leaves layer well in labradorite, rose quartz, and amazonite. Hearts work in a run or on their own. Tubes look best in carnelian. For statement pieces, see our gemstone focal beads.
Carved, Faceted, or Smooth
Choose carved when one bead should carry the design, like a focal or a single accent. Choose faceted for sparkle across a whole strand. Choose smooth when the stone's color is the star. Our rule: one carved focal, plain beads on either side. Let the carving breathe.
Stringing and Care
Carved edges are thinner than plain rounds. Use flexible beading wire and add a spacer between carved beads so they do not knock together. Skip the elastic that snaps back, because that is what cracks petals. Clean with warm water and a soft cloth, never an ultrasonic. More in our beard care guide.

Yes. Every bead here is a natural gemstone, carved and polished. We do not sell resin or glass. The stone named in the title is the actual material.
What Size Holes Do Carved Beads Have?
Most run 0.8mm to 1mm, which takes standard beading wire and thin cord. Some are drilled at 1.5mm, and we say so in the title. For leather or thick cord, shop our large hole gemstone beads.
Will Carved Beads Chip?
Only if you are rough with them; treat them like a faceted briolette. Use flexible wire and add spacers, and they hold up fine.
