Apatite Beads
Apatite is a transparent gem found in wide saturation ranges of Blue, Green, Violet, Pink, Yellow, Brown, and colorless hues. Apatite beads received its name from the Greek `Apatao` which means to deceive because the stone mocks so many other gemstones in color. Apatite of the blue, bluish green and green hue is a result of the element manganese. Apatite`s main element is Fluorapatite which is also the main element found in teeth and bones. Apatite is mined in Brazil, Mexico, Myanmar (Burma), Canada, Czech Republic, India, Madagascar, Mozambique, Norway, S. Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka (Ceylon), and the US.
