Rainbow Moonstone Beads

Rainbow Moonstone beads are a variety of Labradorite named after the location it was founded, Labrador in Canada, is known for its schiller or labradorescense in vivid metallic tints of blue, green and yellow. However, the most prized schiller is the complete spectrum. Rainbow Moonstone bodycolor is white translucent to a colorless transparent hue and has a vitreous luster. The phenomenon of labradorescense is caused by interference of light from alternating microscopic lattice distortions. Labradorite deposits are found in Canada, Australia, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia and the USA.
