Zircon has been known since antiquity but today`s name is derived from the Perisan name of `golden colored`. A Zircon bead`s high refractive index and strong dispersion give its great brilliance and intense fire. The trade term for blue zircon is Starlight and deposits are found in Burma, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Australia, Brazil, Korea, Madagascar, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania and Vietnam. In nature zircons are brown or re-brown in color but through heat-treatment these Zircons become colorless or blue. For a fantastic blue gem with plenty of sparkle and fire - Blue Zircon cannot be surpassed.
