Charoite Beads
Charoite beads are a rare mineral found only in the Murun Mountains along the Charo River in Russia. The gemstone color can range from bright lavender, violet, and purple with streaks of grey, black and white due to the unusual limestone qualities of the Murun Mountains. Charoite derives its name from the Charo River where it was discovered. Charoite is opaque, has a waxy to vitreous luster, offer unusual tones of purple and violet that seem to swirl within the stone, and is a rare one-source gemstone.
