Chrysocolla and Azurite Beads
Chrysocolla, the name, was first used in 315B.C. and comes from the Greek word Chrysos meaning `gold` and the word kolla meaning `glue`. The Chrysocolla bead mineral originates in copper rich areas and forms in a botryoidal mass of copper silicate. The beautiful greenish blue, green, blue black, and turquoise -like gem can be translucent to opaque. Chrysocolla is mined in Russia, Australia, China, Africa, Canada, Asia, South America and areas of Europe.
