Azurite Beads

Azurite is a light to dark saturation Blue or violetish Blue Semi-Translucent to Opaque gemstone. The coloring element of the Azurite beads is copper which produces the blue green color. Azurite was used in ancient times as a pigment and dye. Azurite received its name from the latin word `Azure` which means blue. In fact, the term Azure Blue was taken from this stone due to its highly popular status in Moroccan culture. Azurite is mined in the US, Namibia, Chile, Russia, Australia, Mexico and Morocco.
